1. About these terms
These Terms of Service cover access to the SCBI public website and use of the online services to which they are expressly applied. Please use our services responsibly and read the Privacy Policy alongside these terms.
Separate written enrolment, assessment, payment, employment and portal agreements may apply. These website terms do not replace those agreements or override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where legally required, SCBI should obtain affirmative agreement when a service is registered for.
2. Website information
Course descriptions, schedules, fees, centre details and availability may change. Contact SCBI to confirm current details before relying on them for registration, payment or travel.
Sending an enquiry or completing a placement test does not by itself confirm admission, reserve a seat or complete enrolment. Confirmation is provided through the applicable SCBI registration process.
3. Courses, assessments and results
Students should follow the instructions and integrity rules supplied for their course or assessment. Do not impersonate another candidate, share restricted questions or submit work dishonestly.
Placement results help guide course selection and are not a promise of an external examination score. Published achievements reflect individual outcomes. Course participation does not guarantee a particular score, university admission, visa decision, employment outcome or award from an external organisation.
4. Accounts and authorised access
Use only accounts and services for which you have permission. Provide accurate registration details, protect your credentials and do not share access to restricted student or staff information.
Do not attempt to bypass permissions, retrieve another person’s records, interfere with services or test systems without express authorisation. Report suspected account compromise to SCBI promptly. A public link to a portal does not authorise access to its private records.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use our website or services to distribute malware or spam, harass others, submit unlawful or misleading material, infringe another person’s rights, overload systems or circumvent access controls.
Automated collection or bulk republication of school content or personal information requires permission unless permitted by applicable law. These terms do not prohibit ordinary personal browsing or accessibility tools.
6. Content, photographs and intellectual property
SCBI’s original website materials, branding and educational content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Third-party logos, qualifications and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
You may view public content for personal informational use. Copying, adapting, redistributing or commercially using protected materials requires the relevant permission unless an applicable legal exception allows it. You must not use SCBI’s name, crest or student photographs to imply endorsement or an unauthorised relationship.
Submitting a photograph, testimonial or student result does not transfer ownership to SCBI or create an unlimited publicity licence. Publication permissions should be agreed separately.
7. Information you submit
Submit information that is accurate and that you are entitled to share. Obtain permission before sending another person’s information or work. Do not submit passwords through general enquiry forms.
SCBI may use submitted information to handle the service or request for which it was provided, as described in the Privacy Policy and any service-specific notice.
8. Fees, cancellations and refunds
Fees, payment arrangements, transfers, cancellations and refunds are governed by the applicable written course or registration terms supplied before enrolment. This page does not establish a general “no refund” rule or create a new cancellation policy.
Ask customer service to confirm the relevant terms before paying. Any mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
9. External services and availability
Links to learning platforms, partners and other websites may be provided for convenience. Those organisations may apply their own terms and privacy policies. A link does not make SCBI responsible for every statement or service on an external site.
We aim to keep online services available, but maintenance, network problems and other interruptions can occur. Contact customer service if an online issue prevents you from completing a time-sensitive school task.
10. Restrictions, responsibility and complaints
SCBI may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect systems, investigate suspected misuse or comply with applicable requirements. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a contact route for review.
Responsibility for loss or harm is determined by applicable law and any relevant service agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
For questions or complaints, email service@scbi.com.mm. Describe the issue and the service involved without including your password.
11. Changes and applicable law
The published terms will show their effective date. Updates apply prospectively, subject to applicable law and any existing agreement. Material changes to an ongoing service should be communicated and, where required, accepted through the relevant process.
SCBI operates in Myanmar. The governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions for these website terms must be confirmed before publication. Mandatory protections that apply to a user are not removed by these terms.
